Second Stage Round 3: Yale - Lagomar 65-51

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Lagomar (2-1) in Montevideo on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Yale (3-0) 65-51. Yale forced 23 Lagomar turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Mariangel Santana (160-2003) who scored 20 points. Argentinian guard Laila Raviolo (180-2000) chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was center Selena Medrick (177-1992) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Victoria Pereyra (172-1986) added 8 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Yale is looking forward to face Paysandu (#5) at home in the next round. Lagomar will play against Juventud and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
