Second Stage Round 3: Paysandu - Urunday 43-35

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when Urunday (1-2) was defeated on the road by Paysandu (1-2) 43-35 on Sunday. Paysandu held Urunday to an opponent 19.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 27.1 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Urunday 60-40 including a 42-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Diana Riani who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 19 rebounds. Center Karen Villamarin (-1985) helped adding 14 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Florencia Barbier (-2001) with 6 points and 8 rebounds and forward Sabrina Molina (-2001) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. Paysandu will meet Yale in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Urunday's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Montevideo.
