The game had a very big importance for second-ranked San Salvador as it allowed them to take a leadership position. San Salvador smashed 3rd placed LMMR 2 at home 87-68. San Salvador dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to LMMR 2's 40. San Salvador forced 33 LMMR 2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Cuban Leidys Oquendo (180-1982) fired a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 8 steals for the winners. Adriana Rivas (175-1996) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four San Salvador players scored in double figures. American forward Chandre Nunez (178) produced 25 points and 6 rebounds and Monica Aristondo (163-1992) added 13 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively for lost side. LMMR 2's coach Alvaro Torres rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. San Salvador have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. LMMR 2 at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. LMMR 2 will play next round against strong Salvadorenas 2 trying to get back on the winning streak. San Salvador will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked San Miguel at home.
