The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Asuncion: San Jose and Ciudad N.. San Jose crushed visiting Ciudad N. by 67 points 120-53. San Jose dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Ciudad N.'s 26. They outrebounded Ciudad N. 61-27 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. San Jose looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Ciudad N.'s players. The former international forward Fernando Dose (200-1994) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners and Argentinian forward Franco Benitez (199-1994) chipped in 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Five San Jose players scored in double figures. At the losing side Nahuel Scala responded with 17 points and Mexican Elias Martinez scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. San Jose's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion Felix Perez.
