Date: August 30, 2022
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when eleventh ranked Miramar (3-2) crushed 10th ranked Stockolmo (2-2) in Montevideo 87-68 on Tuesday. Miramar looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Joaquin Nunez (189-2002) nailed 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and point guard JMartin Mayora (181-1995) accounted for 15 points and 6 assists. Four Miramar players scored in double figures. Guard Facundo Terra (185-1998) came up with 15 points and 4 assists and American center Lenny Daniel (203-1987, college: CSUN) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Stockolmo in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Miramar moved-up to tenth place. Loser Stockolmo dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Capitol. Miramar will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Stockolmo's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Verdirrojo.
