Second Stage Round 6: O.Mundial - San Telmo RS 87-85
Date: September 2, 2022
Rather predictable result in Montevideo where ninth ranked O.Mundial (4-1) edged 13th ranked San Telmo RS (1-4) 87-85 on Friday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. O.Mundial looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Santiago Wohlwend (172-1997) who scored 23 points, 6 assists and 7 steals. Brazilian center Romulo Gusmao (208) chipped in 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four O.Mundial players scored in double figures. O.Mundial's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Argentinian Valentin Duvanced (, agency: BIG) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and Argentinian Federico Harina (186-1991) added 19 points respectively. O.Mundial have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Colon and Sayago. Loser San Telmo RS dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. They share the position with Larranaga and Verdirrojo. O.Mundial will meet Sayago (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. San Telmo RS's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Stockolmo.
