Second Stage Round 6: Capitol - Larranaga 75-86

Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Larranaga (#7) and Capitol (#5). Capitol was defeated at home 75-86 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Larranaga outrebounded Capitol 45-23 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Theo Metzger (200-1999) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Maximiliano Nobile (181-1997) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Four Larranaga players scored in double figures. Larranaga's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American Akia Pruitt (203-1997, college: UNCP) who recorded 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks and point guard Mateo Giano (186-2000) added 20 points respectively. Larranaga maintains seventh position with 1-4 record, which they share with Verdirrojo and San Telmo RS. Loser Capitol keeps the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with U.Atletica. Larranaga will meet at home higher ranked Tabare (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Capitol's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Cordon.
