Regular Season Round 8: Dorados - Plateros 80-100

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Dorados (9-4) in Chihuahua on Friday night. Hosts were rolled over by fourth ranked Plateros (7-6) 100-80. Plateros shot 67.9 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Plateros especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. American Leroy Davis (198-1981, college: Georgia St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 6 rebounds. The former international center Joshua Ibarra (211-1995, college: HBU) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Plateros players scored in double figures. Plateros' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) replied with 29 points and 5 assists (was perfect 13-for-13 from the free throw line !!!) and his fellow American import forward Daviyon Draper (201-1994, college: FIU) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Dorados. Plateros maintains fourth position with 7-6 record, which they share with Mineros. Dorados at the other side still keep top place with four games lost. They share the position with Astros. Plateros is looking forward to face higher ranked Fuerza Regia (#3) in Monterrey in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Dorados will play on the road against Soles in Mexicali and are hoping to win this game.
