Second Stage Round 4: Yale - Paysandu 82-42
Date: September 3, 2022
No shocking result in a game in Montevideo where top-ranked Yale (4-0) smashed 5th ranked Paysandu (1-3) 82-42 on Saturday. Yale forced 24 Paysandu turnovers and outrebounded them 45-31 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Paysandu's players. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Mariangel Santana (160-2003) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Milagros Ferreira (-2007) who added 12 points during the contest. At the losing side Estefany Da Silva (-1985) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and center Karen Villamarin (-1985) scored 5 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Yale have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record, which they share with Aguada. Newly promoted Paysandu dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Yale will meet Juventud (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Paysandu will play against Montevideo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
