The game had a very big importance for second-ranked San Salvador as it allowed them to take a leadership position. San Salvador smashed 4th ranked San Miguel at home 83-63. San Salvador looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by San Miguel's players. Cuban Leidys Oquendo (180-1982) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 20 rebounds and 9 assists. Adriana Rivas (175-1996) contributed with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four San Salvador players scored in double figures. Guard Melany Sanchez (167-2004) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Zabdi Rivera (170-2002) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for San Miguel. San Salvador have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. San Miguel at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost.
