Important game to mention about took place in Puerto Ordaz. First ranked Gladiadores (18-5) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 3rd ranked Gigantes (16-7) 90-87 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gigantes. Gladiadores dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Gigantes' 46. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Sheldon Mac (196-1992, college: Miami, FL, agency: Slash Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and American-Puerto Rican Devon Collier (203-1991, college: Oregon St.) who added 24 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Luis Duarte (190-1994) with 18 points and 4 assists and American Trey Gilder (206-1985, college: NSU) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Gigantes players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Gladiadores have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-5 record. Gigantes at the other side keep the third place with seven games lost.
