Regular Season Round 3: Bucaneras - Caribenas 77-78

The most interesting game of round 3 was only one-point a home defeat of Bucaneras (1-3) to Caribenas (2-2) 78-77. Caribenas dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Bucaneras' 38. Caribenas forced 21 Bucaneras turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for the former international guard Waleska Perez (180-1994, college: Weatherford JC) who led her team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists. Point guard Jormelys Urbina (170-1996) helped adding 20 points. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Irene Tazon (175-1987) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Yurkia Gallardo (-1991) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Bucaneras players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
