There was a minor upset when their close opponent Santa Tecla ITD (5-7) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked San Miguel (5-7) 70-64 on Saturday. Strangely Santa Tecla ITD outrebounded San Miguel 60-37 including a 26-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ecuadorian point guard Leyda Macias (165-1983) fired 21 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Guard Melany Sanchez (167-2004) chipped in 25 points and 7 rebounds. Four San Miguel players scored in double figures. Cuban point guard Arlenys Romero (176-1984) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and American guard Diamond Richardson (175-1993, college: UAPB) added 17 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side. San Miguel moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Santa Tecla ITD.
