Regular Season Round 10: Astros - Mineros 108-82

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Mineros (8-9) were outleveled by first ranked Astros (13-4) in Guadalajara 108-82 on Saturday. Astros shot 60.6 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Astros looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Mineros' players. American forward Jordan Loveridge (198-1993, college: Utah) notched 18 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and Dominican Rigoberto Mendoza (190-1992) supported him with 8 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Even 25 points by American swingman Jordan Williams (198-1992, college: N.Texas) did not help to save the game for Mineros. Panamanian-Chilean guard Eugenio Luzcando (187-1995, college: Idaho St.) added 16 points for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Astros have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-4 record. Loser Mineros keep the sixth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Plateros. Astros will meet bottom-ranked Correcaminos (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mineros will play against Libertadores (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
