Cayenas (5-1) recorded its first loss at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Capitalinas (4-1) 75-69. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Cayenas. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Capitalinas dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Cayenas' 34. The former international center Yolimar Martinez (184-1995) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. Forward Yulianny Perez (175-2001) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Capitalinas' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Ivaney Marquez (181-1983, college: Grayson County) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals and the former international Yosimar Corrales (184-1990) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Capitalinas have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Capitalinas maintains second place with 4-1 record behind leader Taurinas.
