Regular Season Round 1: Temuco - Espanol O. 64-96

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Temuco at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Espanol O. 96-64. They made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Espanol O. had a 34-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Temuco helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International Carlos Lauler (190) stepped up and scored 21 points and 5 assists for the winners and American center Dishon Lowery (200-1998, college: OKBU) chipped in 11 points and 15 rebounds. Five Espanol O. players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Malik Thomas (201, college: Norfolk St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Haitian forward Heder Louis scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Espanol O. is looking forward to face Las Animas in Valdivia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Temuco will have a break next round.
