There was no surprise when 5th ranked Leonas (5-8) were defeated on the road by second ranked Real Esteli (10-4) 74-58 on Sunday. Real Esteli outrebounded Leonas 55-38 including a 21-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Shannen Peralta who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and American forward Deijah Blanks (178, college: St.Edward's) who added 23 points during the contest. Dominican center Yamile Rodriguez (188-1994, college: ETSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 18 rebounds and Colombian forward Lizeth Cuadros (-1995) scored 20 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Real Esteli have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 10-4 record having four points less than leader Jaguares. Loser Leonas keep the fifth place with eight games lost.
