Regular Season Round 8: Capitalinas - Cayenas 77-65

Second defeat of league's leader Cayenas (5-2) against second ranked Capitalinas (5-1) 77-65 was the most important game of the last round. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Jessuana Machado (-2004) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points. The former international center Yolimar Martinez (184-1995) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Ivaney Marquez (181-1983, college: Grayson County) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds and the former international Yosimar Corrales (184-1990) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Cayenas. Four Cayenas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Capitalinas have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Cayenas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the second place with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Capitalinas. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
