Regular Season Round 8: Zulianas - Pastoras 37-68

No shocking result in a game when top-ranked Pastoras (6-0) crushed on the road 5th ranked Zulianas (1-7) 68-37 on Monday. Pastoras forced 28 Zulianas turnovers and outrebounded them 48-35 including 35 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by the former international center Dayenlys Veliz (179-2000) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and the former international power forward Gisell Ramirez (183-2004) supported her with 8 points and 8 rebounds. Even 9 points and 6 rebounds by Erianna Pina (-2006) did not help to save the game for Zulianas. Arelis Herrera (-1998) added 6 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pastoras have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Taurinas. Newly promoted Zulianas keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
