Regular Season Round 2: Halcones - Lobos 71-77

Very significant was Lobos' 77-71 road victory against Halcones. Lobos forced 25 Halcones turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Lobos brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Costa Rican swingman Daniel Shedden (191-1996, college: MSUB) notched a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and center Jesus Lombardo (201-2000) supported him with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Four Lobos players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 9 rebounds by Grant Alejandro (199-1993) did not help to save the game for Halcones. Guard Bryan Waithe (188-1994, college: Lindenwood) added 16 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lobos will play against Caballos in Aguadulce in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Halcones' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Panama City to the arena Halcones.
