The game between closely ranked teams ended with leader Taurinas' (8-0) home victory over second-best Pastoras (6-2) 101-56 on Sunday. Taurinas dominated down low during the game scoring 90 of its points in the paint compared to Pastoras' 28. Taurinas forced 20 Pastoras turnovers and outrebounded them 51-22 including a 44-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Pastoras' players. The best player for the winners was Yolimar Gonzalez (-1998) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). The former international forward Endrina Bolivar (-1990) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Five Taurinas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Nirvana Garcia (174-2001) who recorded 18 points and 4 assists and forward Danielis Ysasis (180-2004) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Taurinas have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Newly promoted Taurinas maintains first place with 8-0 record. Loser Pastoras keep the second position with two games lost. They share it with Cayenas. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
