Regular Season Round 3: Municipal C. - Aleman 89-51

Municipal C. used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Puerto Varas 89-51 on Friday night. Municipal C. forced 25 Aleman turnovers and outrebounded them 48-35 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for Venezuelan center Sergio Mijares who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Argentinian Andres Martinez (-1987) accounted for 14 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Municipal C. players scored in double figures. Gabriel Beltran (-2002) came up with 11 points and 7 rebounds and forward Marcelo Villagran (184-1988) added 8 points respectively for Aleman in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Municipal C. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aleman will play against Truenos (#4) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
