Regular Season Round 6: Obera - Regatas 79-85

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Obera (2-1) at the home court. Hosts were defeated by Regatas (2-1) 85-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Obera. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Obera won third quarter 21-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for point guard Marco Giordano (183-2000) who led his team to a victory with 21 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Forward Pablo Espinoza (201-1987) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Regatas players scored in double figures. American power forward Charles Mitchell (203-1993, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Slash Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and Spanish-Argentinian guard Jonathan Maldonado (188-1990) added 20 points in the effort for Obera. Obera's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Regatas keep a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Obera. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
