Regular Season Round 3: Universitarios - Halcones 59-75

The biggest surprise of round 3 in LPB was guest Halcones' (#4) easy road victory over Halcones (#5) 75-59 on Sunday evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Halcones made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was Grant Alejandro (199-1993) who scored 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Guard Bryan Waithe (188-1994, college: Lindenwood) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Halcones' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Carlos Ibarra (170-1995) who recorded 13 points and 7 rebounds and American swingman Brandon Franklin (191-1993, college: Pacific Union) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Halcones are looking forward to face Lobos (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Halcones will play against Centinelas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
