Important game to mention about took place in Santurce. Cangrejeras saved a 2-point victory at home edging Lares 64-62 on Tuesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Cangrejeras players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American power forward Rebecca Tobin (195-1988, college: Arizona St.) had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Whitney Knight (191-1993, college: FGCU) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Calveion Landrum responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and American center Akela Maize (196-1996, college: NC State) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Lares' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Cangrejeras will play against Montaneras in Morovis in the next round. Lares will play on the road against Atenienses in Manati to get more than just one victory in their record.
