Regular Season Round 2: La Union - Penarol 77-72
Date: October 13, 2022
Not a big story in a game in Formosa where Penarol was defeated by La Union 77-72 on Thursday. La Union shot 69.8 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for La Union especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. The best player for the winners was Marcos Saglietti (188-1986) who scored 20 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Point guard Gonzalo Alonso (178-2002) chipped in 16 points (perfect from the field making all six shots). American forward Al Thornton (203-1983, college: FSU, agency: BIG) produced 17 points and the former international Tomas Monacchi (198-1997) added 16 points respectively for the guests. La Union will meet Riachuelo LR in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Penarol will play against San Lorenzo and will have a slim chance for a victory.
