Everything went according to plan in Manizales where third ranked Piratas (8-4) outscored 5th ranked Sabios (1-11) 98-79 on Saturday. Piratas dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Sabios' 36. They outrebounded Sabios 54-37 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Piratas made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Sebastian Valencia (200-1997) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Tristan Jarrett (193, college: Jackson St.) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Five Piratas players scored in double figures.
