Regular Season Round 12: Santiagueno - Brujos 99-91
Date: October 15, 2022
Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Brujos (3-5) lost to eighth ranked Santiagueno (3-11) in Usultan 91-99 on Saturday. Santiagueno outrebounded Brujos 55-41 including 23 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by American-Colombian center Freddy Asprilla (206-1988, college: Canisius) who scored that evening 9 points, 29 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Joshua Jackson (195-1999) supported him with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Even a double-double of 27 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists by American forward Arinze Obiora (196-1997, college: UMass Dartmouth) did not help to save the game for Brujos. Joshua Quincy added 22 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Santiagueno went down to ninth position due to points difference. Loser Brujos dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. Santiagueno will meet league's second-placed Quezaltepeque on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Brujos will play against Metapan (#4) and hope to secure a win.
