Regular Season Round 3: Morovis - Santurce 76-65

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Cangrejeras (3-2) in Morovis on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Montaneras (2-1) 76-65. Montaneras outrebounded Cangrejeras 48-31 including a 37-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Jasmine Walker (190-1998, college: Alabama) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Mikayla Pivec (178-1997, college: Oregon St.) helped adding 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Montaneras players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Ashley Torres (170-1995, college: Highland, KS) with 19 points and 5 rebounds and American power forward Rebecca Tobin (195-1988, college: Arizona St.) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Montaneras are looking forward to face Lares (#7) at home in the next round. Cangrejeras will play against Moca (#5) and are hoping to win this game.
