Rather expected game when 5th ranked Montevideo (1-7) was defeated at home by third ranked Juventud (5-3) 77-72 on Sunday. Juventud forced 33 Montevideo turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Karina Acosta (-1986) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 10 steals. Forward Ivana Presa (-1986) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Juventud players scored in double figures. Forward Florencia Mier (167-1992) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and Florencia Cardoso (-1999) added 13 points and 14 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Juventud have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Juventud maintains third position with 5-3 record having just two points less than leader Yale, which they share with Malvin. Montevideo lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Remeros. Juventud will meet at home league's second-placed Lagomar in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Montevideo's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Urunday.
