Very important is a home loss of Gigantes (2-2) against Moca (1-2) on Sunday night. Host Gigantes were defeated by Moca in a tough game in Carolina 68-76. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Asia Taylor (188-1991, college: Louisville) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Jacqueline Benitez (178-1997, college: JMU) accounted for 19 points for the winning side. Four Moca players scored in double figures. American guard Adrienne Godbold (180-1991, college: Illinois) came up with 23 points and 4 steals and the other American import forward Akilah Bethel (183-1993, college: LSU) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Gigantes in the defeat. Moca will play against Cangrejeras in Santurce in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gigantes will play on the road against Lares and hope to get back on the winning track.
