There was an upset when Fortaleza was defeated at home by Cerrado 86-80 on Monday. American point guard Keyron Sheard (188-1986, college: Chattanooga, agency: Haylett Sports) fired 25 points and 4 assists for the winners. His fellow American import guard Rashaun McLemore (195-1986, college: CSUN) chipped in 22 points. The former international center Ronald Reis (211-1991) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and the former international point guard David Rossetto (184-1992) added 16 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cerrado will meet at home Pinheiros in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fortaleza will play against Brasilia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
