Regular Season Round 3: Gimnasia - Platense 68-66

Very expected game when Platense (0-3) was edged by Gimnasia CR (2-1) in Comodoro Rivadavia 68-66 on Monday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Gimnasia CR made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Gimnasia CR outrebounded Platense 37-26 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for Cuban swingman Marcos Chacon (194-2003, agency: Pro Sports) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. DR Congolese center Christ Bonazebi (206-2002) accounted for 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Gimnasia CR's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Point guard Juan Frigerio (170-2003) came up with 22 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and Santino Mazzucchelli added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Platense in the defeat. Gimnasia CR will meet San Martin (#17) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Platense will have a break next round.
