Regular Season Round 3: Riachuelo LR - La Union 77-99

There was a small surprise in La Rioja where La Union (2-2) smashed Riachuelo LR (1-2) 99-77 on Friday. It was a great evening for American guard Thomas Cooper (196-1992, college: Calgary) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 5 assists. Point guard Guillermo Aliende (178-1997) helped adding 18 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was American guard Latraius Mosley (198-1990, college: Life) with 14 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import center Deionte Simmons (205-1996, college: Chicago St.) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Five La Union and four Riachuelo LR players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. La Union will meet at home Gimnasia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Riachuelo LR will play against Quimsa (#18) in Santiado del Estero and hope to win that game.
