Regular Season Round 4: Obera - Instituto 58-65

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Obera (2-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Instituto (8-1) 65-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Obera. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Obera won third quarter 20-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American power forward Phillip Lockett (202-1988) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Nicolas Copello (193-1992) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Naturalized Dominican forward Xavier Carreras (198-1994) replied with 11 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Spanish guard Jonathan Maldonado (188-1990) added 9 points in the effort for Obera. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Instituto have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-1 record. Obera at the other side dropped to the seventh place with one game lost. Instituto are looking forward to face Penarol (#9) in Mar del Plata in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Obera will have a break next round.
