The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Amazonas in Cocle on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by LA U 76-68. LA U forced 28 Amazonas turnovers and had a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Swingman Diobelis Batista (167-2005) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 9 steals. Venezuelan guard Crismar Rojas contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. LA U's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Honduran forward Nelly Rapalo (173-1999) replied with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and center Marisol Plato (180) added 8 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Amazonas. LA U are looking forward to face Felinas in the next round. Amazonas will play against Cobras and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
