The San Pedro Gymnasium was filled to capacity Saturday evening as tourists from around the world and Tiger Shark regulars came to witness the battle of the Island. Having lost their first home game since the last two seasons commenced, prior to this game, the Tiger Sharks stalked the arena with a deepened sense of urgency.
Winning the tip-off the Tiger Sharks implemented their attack looking to power through the zone presence of the Belize City team. Yet the defensive prowess of No Limits seemed to be just as prepared for a Shark attack as any team who has come to the island. Garnishing a few steals and finding themselves behind the San Pedro by only 2 points at the end of the quarter.
The second quarter however, proved to be quite the mountain for the No Limits team to climb as San Pedro bombarded Belize City with quick sharp shooters from all around the perimeter. The Tiger Sharks proceeded to outscore and out-maneuver No Limits to end the half with a 37-27 lead.
By the start of the third quarter, Belize City No Limits heighted their offensive attack. Slicing through the Tiger Shark defense and rallying behind their very own imported American player. No limits won the quarter 19-16 finding themselves closest to the lead that they had been since the end of the first quarter.
But on the island of San Pedro, as the sun goes down, the NEBL has learned that Tiger Sharks travel in packs and the fourth quarter was all the incentive the reigning NEBL champions needed to restrict No Limits for good. San Pedro outscored Belize City 30-24 in the fourth and sealing the 83-70 victory over another rival city team.
Showcasing his best game of the year, Caleb Sutton (199-F-90, college: Judson) lead all scorers with a mammoth-sized 30 point breakaway performance. Sutton lead the Tiger Sharks in points, blocked shots (2), and tied in rebounding (8) coming ever so close to a formidable double-double. Sutton was supported by veteran teammate and sharp shooter Ashton Edwards, who from off the benched dropped 15 points. Andrew Ortiz added 13 points and 8 rebounds and Belizean American Gene Myvett (193-G-82, college: CS Los Angeles) found himself with 12 points 5 assists and 4 steals.
No limits leading scorer was point guard Michael Bables tallying 20 points with just 1 assist.
Next week the Tiger Sharks will remain on the Island looking to take their first bite out of the smooth Running Rebels of Orange Walk.

NEBL Week 8 Review!!! - 2 days ago
This year, the NEBL has been more competitive compared to the past few years. This, of course, makes the games more exciting to watch. One thing is certain, the addition of foreign players to the league has significantly impacted both quality and play level of certain teams. This past weekend, predicted outcomes to the games held in Belmopan, San Ignacio and Orange Walk were debated up to the last minutes of play. In Belmopan, the home team struggled to pull its win from the San Pedro Tig...   [read more]
