The plot thickens as Friday night's game saw the Tiger Sharks of San Pedro facing of off against another mainland team with Belize City No Limitz. Both teams have experienced a more turbulent second half of the season than the first but the question that was on every basketball fan's mind, 'Who would come out on top?'

San Pedro began the attack outscoring Belize City 18-10 in the first quarter. Both Belize City No Limitz and San Pedro chose to utilize a zone throughout the major parts of the night's game. In the second quarter the zone that was so synchronized, seemed to be discombobulated and the team from Belize city found themselves ending the first half on a 17-18 run.

At the start of the second half the Tiger Sharks' two imported players stepped up the team's defensive intensity early with amazing steals leading to points in the paint, ultimately finished off with astonishingly high-flying slams. Yet as substitutions were made in the 3rd quarter, Belize City charged back with an offensive barrage of their own.

Ultimately it would be the Tiger Sharks of San Pedro who would walk away from the night victorious sealing away the fate of No Limitz and further qualifying themselves for an impending playoff birth.

To lead all scorers in the game, Caleb Sutton (199-F-90, college: Judson) dropped a solid 20 points coupled with 3 steals on the night. Raul Roches followed his teammate with 13 points and 9 rebounds, while Shark veteran and previous National Team player Gene Myvett (193-G-82, college: CS Los Angeles) looked to almost clench a triple double with 10 rebounds 6 assists, and 6 points. Andrew Ortiz also tallied 10 boards for the night.

Belize City No Limits did their best to attack but without the offensive presence of their very own American import, the charge was just not enough. Gregory Rudon (180-G) lead Belize City with 15 points.

NEBL Week 8 Review!!! - 2 days ago
This year, the NEBL has been more competitive compared to the past few years. This, of course, makes the games more exciting to watch.
