Charles
Burgess
Randers Cimbria Basketball (Ligaen) re-signed 32-year old Belizean point guard Charles Burgess (186-84kg-84, college: Texas Tech). He has a double citizenship as he also holds American passport. Burgess was a team leader there last season. In 27 Ligaen games he averaged impressive 19.9ppg, 6.3rpg, 4.1apg and 2.1spg. He can count that season as a very successful as was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Danish Ligaen Honorable Mention.
The previous (14-15) season Burgess played at Egis Kormend in A Division where in 11 games he had 9.6ppg, 4.5rpg, 3.6apg and 1.2spg. He also played 2 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he recorded 9.5ppg, 6.0rpg, 5.5apg and 3.0spg.
Among other achievements Burgess played in the final of Danish League in 2014. He received also Eurobasket.com All-Danish Basketliga Player of the Year award and Eurobasket.com All-Danish Basketliga Import Player of the Year award back in 2011.
Burgess represented Belize at the COCABA Championships in Cancun (Mexico) seven years ago. His team won Silver.
Burgess is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in four different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with European, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Burgess has played previously professionally also in Finland (Forssan Koripojat and Salon Vilpas), Germany (MLP Academics Heidelberg) and Uruguay (Sayago).
He attended Texas Tech University until 2008 and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball.
Let's have closer look into Burgess' outlook: Charlie played for legendary Coach Bob Knight and is an extremely hard worker. Proven finisher around the basket and can hit from outside the three-point arc. Charlie is all about winning and played his Senior season with a broken hand and stats showed, but he is a warrior and played the whole season hurt to help his team. Completely healthy now Charlie will return to form he displayed his Junior year. He can distribute the ball and rebound extremely well from the Guard spot. Lightening quick, can get it to his team mates for an easy score or can take it himself.

Randers Cimbria Basketball roster for 2016-2017:
