Windsor Express (NBL Canada) landed 31-year old American guard Chris Matthews (193-95kg-85, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: Virtus Sports Management). He played in the summer at CAN Oruro in Bolivian Libobasquet. The most of last season Matthews spent at Moncton Miracles. In 24 NBL Canada games he averaged 10.6ppg, 2.0rpg and 2.0apg. He also spent pre-season at Halifax Rainmen that year.
The previous (13-14) season Matthews played at Saint John Mill Rats. In 20 NBL Canada games he had 12.4ppg, 2.3rpg and 1.6apg in 2013-14 season. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Part of previous (12-13) season Matthews spent at Breidablik (D1) in Icelandic league. In 5 games he had 13.4ppg, 4.2rpg and 2.6apg in 2012-13 season. He has played also professionally in France (Aix-Maurienne), Mexico and EBA (Washington M.).
Matthews attended St.Bonaventure University until 2010 and it will be his sixth season in pro basketball.
Let's have closer look into His outlook: Chris Matthews is a talented combo guard with the versatility to play both the shooting guard and point guard position. Matthews is a vocal leader whose presence on the court is felt. At 6'4, 210 Ibs he is skilled at taking defenders off the dribble, shooting over them, or going to the basket unshaken by opponent contact. His athleticism allows him to run the floor and play solid defense on all ends of the floor. Chris has an impeccable shooting range; his ability to consistently drain the 3-point shot is his trademark. Matthews displays eagerness and has a disciplined work ethic that inspires his teammates; he is committed to the game and knows what it takes to win games. With his length and ability to create off the dribble and score, Matthews draws the attention of professional teams at all levels.
