Vikingos de Tarija is willing to go even further as one of the top teams in Bolivia's Libobasquet, by signing experienced players from overseas to strengthen the roster for the upcoming 2016 season, such as Jamal Johnson (201-F-81, college: Clayton St.), John A. Thomas (198-F-82, college: Columbus St.) and Nate Drayton (200-F, college: W.Texas A&M).
Johnson is a 35 year-old SG-SF globetrotter with over a decade of international clubs experience in countries such as Ireland, Portugal, Uruguay, Chile, Dominican Republic, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, Ecuador, Colombia, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
Meanwhile, Thomas is a 34 year-old SF-PF with successful stints in leagues of Holland, Luxembourg, Germany, Uruguay, Finland, Venezuela, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Mexico and Argentina. He recently played for Colo Colo in Chile's Liga Nacional and Estudiantes de Olavarria in Argentina's TNA (second division).
Drayton is 2.00m tall and has played in leagues of Colombia, Argentina, Paraguay, Ecuador and Bahrain.

Venezuelan head coach Henry Paruta was introduced as the new head coach of La Salle Tarija for the upcoming edition of Bolivia's Libobasquet, set to start on June 2018, while he has also been appointed as Bolivia's head coach for the Men's 3x3 Team that will participate in the 2018 South American Games, to be played in Cochabamba later this year.

He will work with players Gerardo Magnus, Bryan Espinoza and Oliver Harry for the South American Games. He will also have the chance to coach fellow Venezuelan C Jorge Parra (206-C-84, college: NE Oklahoma A&M CC) as one of his foreign players for the roster of La Salle Tarija.

He played recently at played at San Jose in Peruvian LNB league. Parra missed last season and had one year break from professional basketball. Parra's team made it to the LNB Semifinals in 2016. He was a member of Venezuelan U21 National Team back in 2004. Parra is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Paraguay (Sol de America), Venezuela (Gaiteros and Yaracuyanos), Peru (Faraday and Universitario), Bolivia (Universidad Autonoma Gabriel Rene Moreno, Univ.Domingo and Atenas de Tarija) and Ecuador (Juvenil). Parra attended NE Oklahoma A&M College until 2007 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball.

Brasilia Basquete (Liga Ouro) landed 27-year old American guard Louis Munks (190-91kg-90, college: Prairie View A&M). He played in the summer at Calero in Bolivian Libobasquet. In three Liga Sudamericana games he averaged impressive 20.7ppg, 7.3rpg, 5.0apg and 1.0spg. Munks ended the last season at Nift Al-Janoub (Superleague) in Iraq. It was a very successful season in his career as he was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-Iraqi League 3rd Team. But the most of that year he spent at CEB Puerto Montt in Chilean Liga Nacional where in 37 games he had very remarkable stats: 20.3ppg, 7.1rpg, 2.8apg and 1.7spg (in top 4). He can count that season as a very successful as was selected to Latinbasket.com All-Chilean Liga Nacional Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week. Munks won Bolivian Libobasquet championship title. He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball Munks experienced life on four different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Munks has played previously professionally also in Canada (Orangeville A's), Slovakia (SKP Banska Bystrica) and Chile (Puente Alto). He attended Prairie View A&M University until 2014 and it will be his fourth season in pro basketball.
