Darnell
Evans
CAN Oruro (Libobasquet) agreed terms with 33-year old American guard Darnell Evans (192-84, college: Queens, NC). It is actually his comeback to Oruro as he has played here before. Evans played last season at L.Sorocaba in Brazilian NBB league, but left. But in three games he did not score anything and had only 2 rebounds and 4 assists. The last summer Evans played at CAN Oruro.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team made it to the Libobasquet Clausura Semifinals in 2015. Evans was also voted All-CVAC 1st Team back in 2008 at his college time.
Evans is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in Chile (CD Tinguiririca San Fernando), Uruguay (Tabare), Peru (Real Club, Ejercito and El Bosque) and Bolivia (Amistad).
Evans attended Queens College (NC) until 2008 and it will be his ninth season as a professional player.
On Evans: A highly skilled, athletic combo guard who scores in a variety of ways, is most dangerous in transition where his speed allows him to put pressure on the defense. In the half court he is skilled in the pick and roll game, posses the ability to play off the ball, as well as breakdown defenders in one on one situations using his ball handling abilities. Thrives in uptempo systems that can utilize his athleticism to turn defense to offense.
