Australia victoriously opened Four-Nations Tournament in Yulin. They held off Brazil in the first game. Elyse Penaluna (193-C-88) stepped up with 28 points to lead the Opals. Australia avenged of the loss to Brazil at Qi Yi Cup several days ago.
The Opals entered the game aggressively scoring 25 points in the starting frame. They recorded a 24:15 lead after ten minutes of action. Brazil however quickly tuned in and cut the deficit at 6 points at the interval 39:45. The Latin American powerhouse got within 3 points at the final intermission. Australia pulled together in the fourth period opening a 10-point lead and holding on for the victory. Abby Bishop (189-C-88) nailed 12 points, while Hanna Zavecz (182-F/G-85) provided 11 points in the win. Silvia Gustavo (186-F-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 16 points for Brazil. Nadia Calhado (194-C-89) accounted for 14 points in defeat.
Australia will face New Zealand, while Brazil will play against China tonight.

Santo Andre - Divino/COC 71-51 Santo Andre swept the semifinal series versus Divino/COC. Santo Andre claimed a comfortable home win in Game 2 to complete the sweep. Silvia Rocha recorded 18 points and 7 rebounds to lead the winners. Santo Andre grabbed a 39:28 halftime lead. They held their opponents to just 23 points in the second half and rallied to the win. Clarissa Dos Santos signs at Bourges - 11 days ago

Tango Bourges Basket (LFB) landed 28-year old Brazilian international center Clarissa Dos Santos (184-89kg-88). She played in the summer at Chicago Sky (WNBA). In 25 games she averaged 4.2ppg and 2.4rpg. The last season Dos Santos played at Orduspor in Turkish KBSL where in three games she had very impressive stats: 19.7ppg, 11.7rpg, 1.7apg and 2.0spg. Pres.Valceslau - Sao Jose 71-64 Pres. Valceslau claimed the opening victory in the Paulista semifinals. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half.
