Brazil recorded the first win at the international tournament in Villeneuve. They overcame China on the final day of the tourney. Clarissa Dos Santos (186-C-88) notched 20 points and 17 rebounds to dominate the floor. Brazil surged ahead early in the encounter. They posted a 24:18 lead ten minutes into the game. China however answered with a stifling defence in the second term. The Asian powerhouse limited their opponents to 7 points in the period to gain a 3-point halftime lead 34:31. Brazil managed to deny the deficit in the third term. The teams entered the fourth frame tied at 52. Brazil held China to 10 points in the fourth quarter and rolled to the victory at the end. Adriana Pinto (169-G-78) had 17 points, while Karla da Costa (172-G-78) added 14 points in the victory. Miao LiJie (180-G-81) answered with 17 points for China. Zeng Meiling (191-C-88) had 9 points in the loss.
