Pinheiros/Sky grabbed a 2-0 lead in the Paulista League semifinals. They overcame Paulistano 85:64 in the second game of the series. Marcio Dornelles (194-F-75) came up with 19 points to lead the defending champions. Pinheiros/Sky earned a 22:13 lead after ten minutes. The hosts accumulated a 62:51 lead at the final break. Pinheiros/Sky outscored their opponents 23:13 in the fourth term to seal the victory. Paulinho Boracini (183-G-84) netted 16 points, while Joe Smith (193-G-77, college: Al.-Huntsville) added 12 points in the win. Eddy Carvalho (194-G/F-87) responded with 15 points for Paulistano. Toyloy, Wagner Mattos and Renato Carbonari had 10 points each in the loss.
Sao Jose/Vinac narrowed the deficit in the series versus Paschoalotto/Bauru. Sao Jose/Vinac clinched a 70:55 home win to trail 1-2 in the best-of-five series. Fulvio de Assis stepped up with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for Sao Jose/Vinac. Deivisson Costa (211-C-80) produced 12 points in the win. Pilar Alves (200-F-84) answered with 17 points for Bauru. DeAndre Coleman (201-F-86, college: S.Alabama) netted 10 points for the visitors.

29-year old guard Cordero Bennett (188-G-88) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Pinheiros and receives a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 4. He had the game-high 22 points adding five rebounds and four assists for Pinheiros in his team's victory, helping them to beat B.Cearense (#16, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 92-79.
