Sao Jose/Vinac registered the decisive victory in the Paulista League semifinal series versus Paschoalotto Bauru. Sao Jose clinched the road win in Game 5 to advance into the title series. Jefferson Antonio (207-F/C-83) came up with 25 points to lead the winners.
Sao Jose/Vinac unleashed 32 points in the opening quarter to take a 5-point lead. They stretched the gap in the second frame. The visitors enjoyed a 53:43 halftime lead. Sao Jose/Vinac did not loosen the grip in the third term. They accumulated a 13-point advantage at the final intermission. Bauru fired 29 points in the fourth period but it was too late to save the game as Sao Jose/Vinac held on to win it. Fulvio de Assis (187-G-81) accounted for 24 points, while Deivisson Costa (211-C-80) netted 18 points for the visitors. DeAndre Coleman (201-F-86, college: S.Alabama) and Larry Taylor (185-G-80, agency: Veracity Sports, LLC, college: Missouri Western) answered with 15 points each for Bauru.

SKY/Basquete Cearense (NBB) added to their roster American power forward Nathan Molony-Benjamin (206-102kg). Molony-Benjamin just graduated from Sonoma State University (NCAA2). He has played there for the last four years. Molony-Benjamin played 25 games where he recorded 5.3ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.5bpg last season. Osasco Basquete (Paulista) signed 24-year old point guard Bruno Felipe Viana (191-93). He played most recently at Campo Mourao (NBB). Paulista will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. The previous (2016) summer Viana played at Campo Mourao (Liga Ouro) where in 17 games he had 3.2ppg and 1.4rpg in 2016 season. He helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final.
