Anderson
Varejao
The NBA season is under way and the first week was a good one Cleveland Cavs,
and Brasilero, Anderson Varejao (205-C-82).
After several seasons of nagging injuries, Anderson seems healthy and ready for
a great 2012-13 season.
Anderson after 5 games is averaging 14 ppg and 14 rebounds a game for the Cleveland Cavs.
How are the other Brasilans faring in the NBA so far?
Tiago Splitter San Antonio Spurs: 5ppg and 3 rbpg getting about 15 minutes per game. Splitter has
had limited minutes , but is a valuable player for the Spurs off the bench.
Leondro Barbosa Boston Celtics: a late signing for the Celtics who are off to slow start.
Barbosa has played well, and sparked a nice come in his first that I witnessed against the
Philadelphia 76ers.
Barbosa is averaging only 4.2 points per game but should improve during
the course of the season.
Fab Melo of Boston has had very linited action for Boston, and Ne Ne is injured and has not played so far
for the Washington Wizards.
Check back for more info all season long for Brasilan NBA flavor.

Paulistano/Unimed Sao Paolo (NBB) added to their roster 29-year old small forward Eddy Carvalho (196-87). It is actually his comeback to Paulistano as he played here before. Carvalho played this summer at Osasco Basquete (Paulista). A very spectacular season in his career as he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Brazilian League Honorable Mention. The last season he played at Macae. In 25 NBB games he recorded very impressive stats: 15.3ppg, 4.9rpg, 1.6apg and 1.0spg. Great season indeed as...   [read more]
