Pinheiros/Sky claimed a vital victory in the fourth game of the Paulista League Final series. They defeated Sao Jose/Vinac on the road to tie things up at 2-2. The fifth and decisive game of the series is scheduled for December 9th.
Pinheiros/Sky started the game strong. They grabbed a 24:19 lead at the end of the first quarter. Sao Jose/Vinac however bounced back and erased the deficit in the second stanza. They pulled ahead for a 41:37 halftime advantage. Pinheiros/Sky recovered after the big break. The defending champions went on a 22:8 rally to ensure a 10-point lead before the fourth frame. The visitors unloaded 28 points in the final quarter and sealed the victory at the end. Joe Smith (193-G-77, college: Al.-Huntsville) provided 21 points, 7 assists and 4 boards for Pinheiros/Sky. Marcio Dornelles (194-F-75) and Mineiro Ferreira (208-C/F-88) added 16 points each for the winners. Fulvio de Assis (187-G-81) responded with 24 points for Sao Jose/Vinac. Andre Laws (186-PG-80, college: San Diego) netted 14 points in defeat.

CHRIS ALLEN UniFacisa Paraiba (Liga Ouro) tabbed 29-year old American guard Chris Allen (190-93kg-88, college: Iowa State). He played recently at ASA Koroivos Amaliadas in Greek A1 league. Allen missed last season and had one year break from professional basketball. Among other achievements Allen's team won Big Ten Regular Season in 2009.
