33-year old forward Felipe Ribeiro (201-F-79) had an amazing evening in the last round for Basquete Cearense and receives a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 11.
He had a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Suzano (#16, 2-8) 85-71. Basquete Cearense maintains the 8th position in Brazilian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Basquete Cearense will need more victories to improve their 5-4 record. Ribeiro turned to be Basquete Cearense's top player in his first season with the team. Ribeiro has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 9.0rpg) and averages solid 1.1bpg and 54.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Jefferson Campos (190-G-91) of Suzano. He is a guard in his first season at Suzano. In the last game Campos recorded impressive 24 points, 3 rebounds and 9 assists. Bad luck as Suzano lost that game 71-85 to the higher-ranked Basquete Cearense (#8, 5-4). Suzano is still in a red zone at 16th spot in the standings. 8 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Suzano managed to get this year. Campos is a newcomer at Suzano and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Guilherme Pereira (190-F-91) of Bauru (#9). Pereira scored 22 points. He was a key player of Bauru, leading his team to a 83-71 win against the lower-ranked Joinville (#12, 4-7). Bauru needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 4 lost games. Pereira has a very solid season. In 9 games in Brazil he scored 8.2ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Arthur Silva (199-F/G-82) of Brasilia - 22 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Benzor Simmons (196-G-88) of Vila Velha - 29 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Babby Araujo (211-C-80) of Mogi das Cruzes - 25 points and 12 rebounds
7. Marquinhos Vieira (207-F-84) of Flamengo - 24 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Audrei Parisotto (195-G-84) of Uberlandia - 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Durval Prado (200-F-92) of Joinville - 14 points and 8 rebounds
10. Paulinho Boracini (183-G-84) of Pinheiros/Sky - 22 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Weber Bahia adds Bordignon to their roster - 1 hour ago
Weber Bahia Blanca Basket (LigaA) added to their roster 21-year old Brazilian power forward Daniel Bordignon (206-96). He played recently at Baskonia in Spanish Liga Endesa. The last season Bordignon played at Magia Huesca (LEB Gold) in Spanish league where in 39 games he had 9.9ppg, 5.4rpg and 1.1spg. He helped them to make it to the final. Despite young age Bordignon had impressive career. He was voted Eurobasket.com All-Spanish EBA Honorable Mention back in 2013. He represented Brazil...   [read more]
