One of the most traditional soccer clubs in Brazil the Fluminense FC will have a new basketball team to cheer for this season. Fluminense FC will make tomorrow the official presentation of their professional basketball team, which already starts worked looking forward for the next edition of the NBB. The star of the team will be the Argentine Facundo Sucatzky (175-PG-72), the point guard who has used the Jersey of the team in 2007, as part of a partnership with the Minas Tenis Clube.Another great addition for the club was PF Luiz Toledo (203-F-87, college: Idaho) who recently finish a solid college career.

The new team will be headed by coach Marcio Andrade , who was four times State Champion for Fluminense FC and also the South American runners-up as a coach of Ajax-Goias. Marcio was also a long time coach of Vasco da Gama and spend many years coaching the Brazilian Junior National Team.

So far the new fluminense roster have the following players:

Caxias do Sul BasqueteTriches (NBB) strengthened their roster with addition of experienced 34-year old small forward Alex Oliveira (196-83). It is actually his comeback to Caxias do Sul as he has played here before. Oliveira played last season at Uniceub/BRB/Brasilia (NBB). In 28 games he recorded 5.8ppg and 2.3rpg. 23-year old forward Eduardo Sommer (204-F-94) put on an amazing game in the last round for Paulistano and receives a Latinbasket.com Paulista Player of the Week award for round 7. He had a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds, while his team outclassed America (#7, 2-8) with 51-point margin 109-58. Paulistano maintains the 3rd position in Brazilian Paulista. Bahia Basket - Flamengo 82:73 Bahia Basket claimed the Torneo Internacional de Lima 2017 title. They edged Flamengo for the trophy. Maximo Fjellerup (195-G-97) delivered 15 points to lead the winners. Flamengo jumped to a 19:16 lead after the first period. Bahia Basket bounced back in the second term.
